Doner Box to bring ‘wagyu of doner’ to Birmingham this week
HALAL STATUS Fully HalalA new doner takeaway “should be open within the next 3-4 days” this week after positive feedback from Brummie locals over the quality of the meat.
Doner Box will be launching on the competitive strip of Ladypool Road in Sparkbrook with “custom made” doner “using only 100% prime cuts of lamb”.
“It really is the Wagyu of doner,” owner Mustafa summed his product up while confirming with FtLion: “We don’t use any by-products like all other doner on the market.”
And the fully Halal eatery has been left “shocked” by the response following a taste-testing session conducted durig the course of this week.
“People kept on walking in so we fed them,” Mustafa revealed, adding: “People are shocked at the taste [and by] how good it is. So it’s got us happy.”
While he recognises that the “food game is very hard right now”, he was confident in his product declaring: “Our lamb is unique and is designed by ourselves. So our product is not available anywhere.”
With seating available for 12 when covid restrictions allow, Mustafa was also keen to highlight “our Mediterranean chicken [which] is amazing”.
He further added that the bread being used – “similar to Turkish pide bread” – will be freshly baked daily and “never frozen”.
The takeaway will be publishing its menu in the next few days, and will be available for delivery via Just Eat, Uber Eats, and Deliveroo in due course.
