Eis Cafe’s Brummie-inspired waffles rock
By Romana Roske
I was intrigued by the rustic and playful interior of Eis Cafe in Birmingham as it immediately showed detail to perfection.
I thought that if the inside was so inviting and beautiful – my most favourite part being a wall that shared Hadith and Islamic quotes in a very artistic manner – the food couldn’t be bad either.
My friends and I opted for the waffles with Belgian milk chocolate and homemade white chocolate and salted caramel flavoured ice cream topped with whipped cream.
It was a sheer joy to eat, so much so that we had a second round.
The texture was slightly crispy on the outside, exactly how I like it. But the ultimate highlight was the ice cream: a beautifully silky smooth texture with a flavouring that was perfectly balanced.
The salted caramel complemented the sweetness of the white chocolate without being overpowering.
If I had some more space in my tummy, I would have tried a few of the other ice cream flavours as well since they are all homemade and you can taste the quality. The customer service was outstanding.
It becomes obvious that the guys who work there and run the business truly put their heart and soul into their work.
Besides, waffles and super sized milkshakes, freshly prepared hot food is also served daily.
It is sad news for ice cream lovers amongst us that so far Eis Cafe only exists in Birmingham.
Should you be in its vicinity, however, do give it a try. In fact they are even worth a road trip.
You will not be disappointed.
