Inspired by the street slang for ‘family’, Famz Peri Peri in East London is a fast food restaurant that places its customers at the heart of its business.

Owner Farhane emphasises that creating a communal family spirit in Gants Hill, Ilford, and his own staff was always his aim from the very beginning.

Perhaps this is why Famz Peri Peri continues to be such an attractive option for grill-food enthusiasts on the busy stretch of Cranbrook Road.

Whether it’s families visiting to try their range of burgers, school children attracted by the colourful interior for a quick bite, or those popping in an evening meal, the eatery appears to be the place to be.

In September, Farhane threw a party, inviting locals down as a thank you for their continued support, only to find queues on the big day stretching down the road in anticipation of trying his delicious menu.

And what a menu it is too, which is defined by a large selection of burgers, chicken and pizzas all revolving around Famz delectable peri peri marination.

Farhane says he has always been about providing his customers the best quality food, cooked fresh to order each and every time.

His recent addition of a trio of Gourmet Burgers is just such an example with Seasoned Lamb Patties defining Famz Mexican, with onion salsa sauce, jalapenos and gerkin; Hawaiian, that includes BBQ sauce, sweet relish, pineapple, Halal turkey rasher, and sweet corn; and the American, with all its classic US flavours.

There’s then Famz Royal Burgers such as the ever-popular Big Makk, which has been inspired by McDonald’s, as well as the Peri Burger and the Chicken Burger, both of which style themselves after the two-tiered Big Makk, but with succulent fillets of poultry instead.

If you fancy something more common, then there’s a whole host of delicious burgers to consider such as the Single, Double or Triple Cheeseburger, a Quarter Pounder, or the desi-inspired, innovative Kofta Burger.

Otherwise, you might consider their pizza range, as well as plenty of chicken to order with the Famz Peri Peri’s famed secret recipe.

And with Farhane now preparing to open a new doner store across the road very soon, the Famz brand is looking to raise the game in Gants Hill.
