If you’re looking for good venue to celebrate an intimate occasion, then you can’t go too far wrong with a fancy hotel in the upper floors of The Shard with guaranteed nice views.

Ting has a separate Halal menu, and, despite an alcohol bar, takes into account factors like no alcohol.

But, it has to be said that this menu is much smaller than their main one.

Although the restaurant is called Ting and sounds like it should be Asian cuisine, it is actually Continental.

Our meal consisted of small to medium sized fancy plates of food consisting of high quality ingredients.

Although everything was as expected, it wasn’t anything outstanding with nothing presenting itself as exceptionally memorable that I’d remember weeks later and be eager to go back for.

Drinks were ok; starters were nice; mains were good; the desserts better.

As an overall experience, it is a decent place to visit the once, particularly if you’re looking for a sightly special option.

It is not exceptionally expensive like some Michelin Star restaurants. Here the prices are reasonable for such an establishment.

Service is exceptional though with friendly attentive staff.

The toilets are worth a visit, as they are the automated Japanese style ones that do everything for you!

If you get a window table, there are nice views of London (though pointing in the less traditional direction, i.e. not the typical Millennium Wheel view, but the opposite direction).

There are also other menu options in the Ting Lounge, which is more casual.
