Fat Hippo confirms all branches cater for Halal chicken

Always a positive when discovering a brand in the north of England that’s catering for Halal, in this case “mighty burger” specialists Fat Hippo.
Not only has this independent burger restaurant chain launched its seventh site in Headingley, Leeds, but a number of their venues source Halal chicken.
A spokesperson has informed FtLion: “The chicken in our North East restaurants are now certified Halal. This means ALL of our restaurants and concessions use chicken that is certified Halal!”
Fat Hippo further confirmed: “None of the sauces have alcohol in them and all of the raw ingredients are segregated so any dishes with bacon in the description on our menu (https://fathippo.co.uk/menus/food) can be withheld. The chicken is also cooked in its own separate fryer.”
Having been founded in the North East in 2010, this burger brand is known for its quirky flavours, with a trio of chicken burgers: Hangover III, Great White Buffalo (remove bacon from both), and The Last Samur-thigh.
They also do a 5-piece tray of thighs and fries called M:I 5, as well as Freddie’s Fingers for starters, and plenty of vegan and veggie options.
Specialising in “good old fashioned, roll up your sleeves and get it all over your face” food, they’ve opened a new restaurant on Otley Road for takeaways.
Currently, customers can pre-order up to 7-days in advance using Fat Hippo’s click-and-collect service, or via Deliveroo.
Fat Hippo will open for dine-in, with table bookings available via their website, once restrictions have eased.
