Fitou’s (Thai, Malaysian) – North Kensington

fitous

This Malaysian and Thai restaurant is situated bang smack in the middle of a residential area and, thus, seems so out of place.

But, its peculiar location is also what ultimately gives it its charm and a sense of class.

The decor is modern and plush with warm lighting that makes you feel instantly at home.

The welcome given is almost fine dining in standards, and so once you’re through those doors, you forget that this where it is.

Mix starter

This starter platters was of the highest quality with forks flying in from all directions.

And those two sauces there (above) are very pungent, so go for the old little-finger-dip test before diving in.

Scallop Chilli Sauce

Scallop Soya Sauce

At £6 a pop, these didn’t come cheap. The scallop chilli sauce was very chilli indeed.

The soya sauce version was very good, however.

Thai Ice Tea

Noodles were ok, though this time, the Lions weren’t exactly diving in to finish things off.

This… not sure what this was, but what we all agreed on was that it was very chilli.

Green Thai Curry

Green curry is one to get. Fresh and full of flavour.

Beef

Beef was succulent and definitely tasty.

Corn Cake

Corn cake is worth getting too. We all loved it.

Summary
The problem with this place, however, is that it's so darn chilli that it kills the taste buds.

Other than that, it's worth a go. Sort out the killer chilli and sort out the pricing; otherwise, this is is the classy, up market version of Siam Pinto.
