Five Lads donate £9k to Gaza through Save One Life charity
A popular Halal fast food brand has donated thousands of pounds to help victims of Israeli aggression in the beleaguered state of Palestine.
A charity drive held last Friday at Five Lads raised over £9000 with all proceeds made on the day being forwarded to UK charity Save One Life.
Five Lads’ London-based restaurants in Goodmayes and Leyton combined to donate exactly £9255.26 to those suffering in the Gaza Strip.
“Al’humdulilah’ an amazing effort from everyone! We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported us on the day for the charity event for Palestine and helped reached awareness by sharing our social posts.
“We are truly grateful to have raised, £9255.66 with the power of community,” the restaurant said.
Following its success, the brand again partnered-up with Save One Life to repeat the event yesterday at its store in Northampton.
Save One Life has also been involved with a number of other Halal restaurants in London these past few months including Ilford’s Spice Khazana, which donated £2,300, and Turkish eatery Adana in Bethnal Green.
The charity says it “provides financial assistance and medical aid to people who need it most, and gives them the choice on how they emerge from vulnerable situations”.
