We have dined at The Grill Restaurant (Stratford) many times as this place is very local to us. The majority of the time the dishes are consistently tasty and well prepared. However, there could be some adjustments to further complement the food more.
But for now, we will share and give a brief review of our “go to dish” for a budget-steak that still tastes good.
We visited them for their ‘buy one steak & get the second one-half price’ deal.
Mr Halalfoodie is definitely a meat lover so he opted for the 8-12oz beef steak (medium well), with hot wing sauce and spicy wedges.
The hot wing sauce was tangy and spicy, which is exactly what he likes, so no issues there.
However, sometimes the meat can lose its heat by the time it’s served, rendering it quite difficult to cut while making it too rubbery. This is made worse by the knives themselves, which aren’t sharp enough, and which, to be honest, can put a damper on things. We don’t think anyone wants to wrestle with their food, right?
For myself (Mrs Halalfoodie), I like a bit of heat, but not as much as my other half. I opted for the same 8-12oz beef steak (medium well) and wedges, but with special steak sauce on top, and a small pot of sticky sauce for variety.
I felt that this had a bit of smokiness, though nothing overpowering, and was, overall, delicious.

The Grill Restaurant is good if you’re looking for a delicious meal without breaking the bank.
And for those local to Stratford, it’s a treat to take an evening stroll in the summer and satisfy your cravings with an affordable dinner out, followed thereafter by an enjoyable nice walk in the nearby park to burn those meat calories off.
