Halal-friendly winners at the British Restaurant Awards 2022
A number of Halal-friendly restaurants won big at this year’s British Restaurant Awards (BRA) which took place at the Porchester Hall in London.
Among the winners at the 4th annual awards ceremony were two restaurants in the capital, and one each in Bradford, Bristol, and Cambridge.
Chef Rohit Ghai’s Kutir, which offers Halal options, was named ‘Restaurant of the Year’ with the Indian fine-dining venue in Chelsea saying it was “a true delight to win… against some serious competition”.
BRA also recognised Bedouin, which was established in 2011 and offers a “true North African experience”, as the ‘Best Restaurant in Cambridge’.
Lebanese grill Chamisse in London’s Camden was voted ‘Best Takeaway Restaurant’ of the year, while Indian eatery Namak, which offers a fully Halal food menu in St Werburghs, won the ‘Best Restaurant in Bristol.
Finally, West Yorkshire’s fully Halal Cafe J’adore – an instagammable place on Chester Street – was awarded ‘Best Restaurant in Bradford’.
With this year’s event paying tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, BRA provides customers the opportunity of nominating and voting for their best restaurants, chefs and culinary service across the country.
