Halal Expo London postpones event for December 2020!

With less than three weeks to go, the Halal Expo London made the sudden announcement yesterday that its inaugural launch would now be postponed until next year.

Scheduled to begin on December 5th at the ExCel London, the three day expo has been rescheduled to take place on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of December 2020.

Describing their “ambitious” project as having “not been without its challenges”, the organisers have blamed the recently called General Election for placing “pressure on the conference content with purdah restricting communications activities”.

Apparently failing to therefore “attract sufficient exhibitors and trade associations to visit the UK” this year, the event organisers said that they had worked closely with all their stakeholders before making the surprising announcement.

While apologising for any inconvenience caused, they have said: “Exhibitors who have committed to the 2019 event are able to roll over their contract to the 2020 exhibition. Please notify Halal Exhibitions by the 31st of December 2019. Any exhibitor who has already paid, receives a full refund within 30 days of request.”

The Expo says its aim is two-fold: “to raise awareness about this $2.3 trillion” market and to “create trading opportunities for Halal focused UK businesses with 57 OIC countries”.

It added: “We are confident that London is the most fruitfull location for international trade and business. … We understand, this may be seen as a setback, but we have come this far and ask you to bear with us on this journey as we continue to work on bringing the expo to London in 2020.”
