Heavenly Desserts debuts in Canada, Kaspa’s plans for kiosks
While artisanal restaurant franchise Heavenly Desserts made its international debut on Saturday, Kaspa’s Desserts has revealed plans to open up to 500 UK sites.
With both brands offering a fully Halal menu, Heavenly Desserts celebrated the grand opening of its first site abroad in the district of Mississauga, near Toronto in Canada.
Although Kaspa’s opened its first international site in the capital of Pakistan in 2020, Heavenly Desserts is looking to set up shop in Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa, and Calgary during the next two years.
Having opened its first store in 2008, Heavenly Desserts now has 42 UK sites, with master franchise agreements in place for countries including the US, Pakistan and Denmark.
Kaspa’s Desserts shift gear towards smaller stores & kiosks
Founded in 2013, Kaspa’s has since grown to over 100 UK sites, and is aiming to open 500 sites with a roll-out plan focusing on smaller stores and kiosks.
Kaspa’s founder Azhar Rehman reportedly said: “We’re looking at around about 20 next year in the UK, and then we’ve got various discussions going on internationally, including the UAE, and we’re close to having Turkey secured.”
Hoping to launch its second overseas site in Morocco this coming January, Rehman added: “The UK sites opening will be nationwide. We used to open in 150-200 square metres, but the market has changed with the delivery side really picking up, so now we’re trying to remodel. With that, we’re anticipating anything from 300-500 stores in the UK through opening smaller stores and kiosks.”
With two flagship takeaway and delivery-only outlets in Cardiff already, Rehman, who also operates burger brand Fat Twins and has master franchise rights for Doner & Gyros, said that he will review the progress of these new outlets before moving forward.
Kaspa’s recent opening in Plymouth too will be followed by a takeaway/delivery-only site in Cardiff tomorrow (13 December) followed by a branch in Chatham, Kent, this Saturday 17 December, as well as a 90-seater branch in Stevenage a week later.
