Heavenly Desserts epic menu for Leicester Halal Food Tour 2023
SPONSORED CONTENT HALAL STATUS Fully HalalBehold, Heavenly Desserts once again take centre stage as the only dessert parlour worthy of inclusion in FtLion’s grand restaurant tour of Leicester (sponsored by HMC online meat purveyors Halal Editions).
With ten banquette booths, Heavenly Desserts 80-cover site on London Road exudes luxury, with two u-shaped booths comfortably seating upto eight guests, and the remaining eight face-to-face booths accommodating both six and four persons, respectively.
Having previously highlighted an extraordinary selection of cold desserts during FtLion’s food tours of Manchester and Bradford last year, the focus this time is on their equally impressive hot items.
Be warned, however, the UK’s leading luxury Halal dessert brand’s sheer range of quality products will have you spoiled for choice.
Heavenly Desserts sheer range of hot & cold items will impress
Soft and chewy, gooey, crispy and crumbly, who doesn’t enjoy the textural contrast of a well-made cookie dough?
And with half-a-dozen tantalising choices made available at Heavenly Desserts, the Lotus Biscoff and White Chocolate devoured below was extraordinarily good.
Served with a smooth scoop of Madagascan vanilla gelato, the contrast between the hot and the cold here assured that this dessert – containing delicious nuggets of white chocolate, and covered in plenty of Biscoff crumb, before being drizzled in Lotus Biscoff sauce – hit that sweet spot.
When seeking after something hot and indulgent, there’s no way a dessert enthusiast could, in all good conscious, overlook a chocolate fondant.
Especially one that’s as attractively presented as this Chocolate and Pistachio, which wasn’t just covered in a Sicilian pistachio sauce and paired with pistachio gelato, but was also perfectly executed to ensure that meltingly soft and oozy centre. Yum!
Of course, it wasn’t all hot, hot, hot. After two indulgent dishes, Heavenly Desserts’ eye-squinting Lemon Posset (served at room temp) turned out to be the ideal palate-cleanser.
Accompanied by crunchy chunks of almond Biscotti biscuit, this creamy posset was flavour-personified, ranging from the zinginess of the lemon cream, to the soft and chewy crushed meringue therein, and enough white chocolate shards and fresh raspberries on top to satisfy.
It was immediately back to something hot though, and this rich and hearty Blueberry French Toast Pudding – one of Heavenly Desserts’ signatures.
With the layers of brioche bread being expertly baked in a rich, cinnamon-infused custard, this was such a soothing affair, made better by the addition of the fresh blueberries on top.
Add to that the nectar sweetness of the maple syrup, and another bowl of that contrastive Madagascan vanilla gelato, and we couldn’t get enough of this classic pud.
And while there were, admittedly, a number of other naughty nibbles in between – the Warm Brownie, Salted Caramel & Banana Sundae being one and the Lotus Biscoff Milkcake the other – the truth is that Heavenly Desserts’ menu range is such that it warrants self-indulgence.
