Heritage’s Chef Sharma opening Jhakaas delivery this Thursday
HALAL STATUS Halal food menu (exc. game; prepped & cooked separately)In June of this year, the review team of FtLion was left stunned for a second time by the culinary talents of Indian Chef Dayashankar Sharma.
Having helped Grand Trunk Road in South Woodford achieve a perfect 5/5 review score as head chef back in 2017, the maestro went and did it again with his own restaurant Heritage in Dulwich.
Well, Chef Sharma will be launching a new premium Indian delivery and takeaway brand called Jhakaas this Thursday 21 October not too far from Heritage in south east London’s Honor Oak.
The Chef has confirmed with FtLion that, similar to Heritage, all the meat here will also be Halal apart from game, with dishes as always prepped and cooked separately.
This new venture, which means ‘epic/superb’ in Hindi and is borne out of the demand in the area for restaurant quality Indian food to-go, will be located on Brockley Rise.
Having worked at acclaimed restaurants like Halal-friendly Tamarind and Zaika, Chef Sharma has created a menu that reflects his 30 years of experience by creating a menu that highlights the Indian street food and classic dishes of Delhi, Bombay, Kolkata and Chennai.
With the takeaway designed in the style of the myriad urban cafes that line the streets of India’s major cities, diners can enjoy drinks like Karak Chai, Desi coffee or Nimbu Pani while waiting for their order.
Taking centre stage are two set meals, each serving two: the Rajputana and Rajputana Grill, as well as an à la carte selection of small plates, tandoor, mains, biryani and sides, including vegetarian and vegan options.
Jhakaas delivery radius will span 3.5 miles and up to 5 miles for pre-orders at least 24 hours in advance from its location.
