London’s Guanabana open The Hoodwood & Cafe Mama & Sons
HALAL STATUS Fully HalalThe folks behind London’s iconic Caribbean restaurant Guanabana are opening two new restaurants next door to each other this week.
Owner and restaurateur Omar Shah, who also owns Ramo Ramen in Soho rated 5/5), launched The Hoodwood yesterday with Cafe Mama & Sons opening tomorrow Saturday 12th.
With both eateries located on Kentish Town Road, The Hoodwood replaces Shah’s previous Caribbean takeaway brand Moi Moi Island.
Having launched earlier today at noon, The Hoodwood specialises in Caribbean oak-smoked jerk chicken patty pies that’s served with mash and jerk gravy.
Meanwhile, Cafe Mama & Sons will be serving a selection of Filipino-Japanese baked goods, sandos, matcha, coffee and more.
The cafe will be giving away 100 ensaymada banana puddings – an ensaymada being a spiral-shaped pastry – to the first customers when doors open at noon.
