Human Appeal launch Coronavirus Emergency Appeal
Human Appeal has launched an appeal to provide emergency food parcels to vulnerable people across the UK during the country’s lockdown.
Having partnered with charity Age UK, the aim is to deliver urgently-needed food parcels that “include long-life and easy-to prepare foods”.
Costing just £15, these much-needed boxes will contain foods such as pasta, porridge, soup, biscuits, cereal, tea, and baked beans, as well as essentials like flour, sugar, powdered milk, jam and juice.
The charity can also provide family hygiene kits for £70 with all the essentials including an easy guide to “reducing the risk of catching and spreading the virus”.

Human Appeal revealed that in Manchester alone, it had “delivered over 3,658 hot meals to hospitals and over 485 meals to homeless people, as well as 90 packets of wipes and masks”.
It added: “We’ve provided 87 meals, and 120 parcels of eggs, milk, and fresh fruit and vegetables to Age UK, 27 meals to Stockport Without Abuse, 291 emergency foods parcels to the elderly isolated in Blackburn and Whalley Range, and we’re supporting Didsbury Mosque with logistics and the distribution of food and essential items to vulnerable people in the Manchester community.”
The charity also said yesterday that it had partnered with Anzal Begum Foundation to pack 16,000 food items ready to be distributed to vulnerable families across Birmingham.
“Be the light of hope in someone’s home today and donate an emergency food pack,” Human Appeal said, adding: “Let the vulnerable and elderly know you and your family are here for them. You can help by donating towards our Coronavirus Emergency Appeal.”
