Iconic restaurant International in Bradford opens 2nd after 46 years
HALAL STATUS Fully Halal food menu • Alcohol servedA legendary restaurant that has been a “part of Bradford’s culinary history” for almost half a century has now opened its second venue.
Having served “the finest Pakistani/ Kashmiri cuisine” on Morley Street since 1976, International launched a 300-cover “flagship” site in Sticker Lane earlier this month.
While it has confirmed on its social accounts that its site in Mannville Terrace “will remain open”, International manager Safeer Khan told The Bradford Telegraph and Argus: “We are not big enough at Morley Street, we decided we needed a bigger place.”
International’s website acknowledges that despite its “restaurant has never been associated with ‘luxury’ dining and its always been about the great food we’ve been serving over the decades”, it has “built up a bit of a cult-following in Bradford and the surrounding areas” over the years.
International concludes: “And lastly but not least, we would like to thank the people of Bradford who have supported our restaurant for over four decades. Without your support, we probably wouldn’t be here after all these years. Viva Bradford, viva International Restaurant!”
Having been crowned the ‘Curry Capital of Britain’ for the last six consecutive years, Bradford is known to have over 200 Indo-Pakistani restaurants.
