Istanbul Restaurant serves Turkish cuisine in Hornsey
HALAL STATUS Fully Halal food menuIstanbul Restaurant opened in North London’s Hornsey early last month with a large, varied and exciting menu.
The 70-seater eatery serves Turkish-Mediterranean food with an avant-garde edge provided by seasonal ingredients.
While its chefs “combine traditional Anatolian cooking methods” with the modern, the restaurant aims at presenting “a unique taste and dining experience”.
With fresh produce being sourced every morning from local London markets, there’s plenty of options that combine the vibrant ingredients so well known from that part of the world.
Istanbul Restaurant’s menu has all the familiar and favourite hot and cold mezzes, though diners may opt for the Meze Plate that comprises 6-cold and 5-hot starters for £9.45 per person.
There’s then the mains that range from clay-grilled lamb to coal-seared seafood, though they also offer the following Set Menu for £19.95 per person:
- Hot & cold mixed meze: Humus, Kisir, Cacik, Mixed Vegetable Falafel, Pastry, Halloumi.
- One of the following kebab dishes: Chicken Shish, Lamb Shish, Lamb Kofte, served with rice & salad.
- Or one of the following veggie dishes: Stuffed AubcrRine Mousakka, Falafel served with salad.
- Or Grilled Salmon served with Salad.
Otherwise for £29.90 there’s the Chef’s Special for two which serves: 4pcs Lamb Shish, 4pcs Chicken Shish, 2pcs Meat Balls, 2pcs Lamb Ribs, 2pcs Chicken Wings, 1 skewer Lamb Kofte, l skewer Chicken Kofte with Rice and Salad.
According to their Facebook page, Lamb Shish Kebab is already a favourite with their customers.
The restaurant serves alcohol on the premises, though the food is entirely Halal.
