Struggling taxi firm owner opens JeeBhai grill in London Tooting

Hard times during lockdown has pushed a taxi firm owner to pursue his passion for cooking while helping to make ends meet by opening a takeaway grill next door.
Kamran, who runs Sky Cars Minicabs in London Tooting has launched JeeBhai on London Road which specialises in freshly-made charcoal kebabs.
“I’ve had the taxi business for 10 years which continues to operate but Covid and the increased traffic in the area means that the taxi business is tough now and so I’ve decided to diversify and follow a passion of mine which is serving great food. We’ll be serving a range of Asian and Middle Eastern-inspire kebabs, natural flavours with real and ancient taste,” owner Kamran told Tooting Newsie.
With “no pans, no ovens, no pots; just natural flames; real koyla [coal] flavours; ancient original taste”, JeeBhai – meaning “Yes Brother” in Urdu – is located opposite Tooting overground station.
Their Bar.B.Q section offers a glimpse of what they do with Lamb Angara pieces, Koyla (Charcoal) Sea Bass Fish, Persian pieces of boneless Chicken Chingari, as well as Shinwari Chops.
They also do a few wraps and burgers too with their signature smashed JeeBhai Burger one to look out for, along with what they call a Desi Fusion menu that’s made up of their recommended Quorma Chicken and their “world famous, signature dish” Baba Broast (Chargha).
Other dishes include beef Nihari Original, lamb Nalli Nihari, Estew made up of “lots of secret ingredients from generations”, and Maghaz, which is a deep fried goat’s brain’s delicacy that’s “a popular dish in which is cattle or sheep/goat brain [is] sautéed in hot spices”.
Otherwise, their main courses comprise of a selection of grills which includes their £25 Punjaabi Grill of one kebab, one Chicken Chingari, one Lamb Angara, BBQ Wings, or Shinwari chops, all served with rice and chips.
