Jimmy’s Killer Prawns UK debut in Leicester

Much to the delight of the people of Leicester, a restaurant serving “the best tasting prawns in the world” debuted in the UK last Friday.

Jimmy’s Killer Prawns has launched a massive 138-seater venue that’s beautifully decked out, and has confirmed with FtL: “Our meat is Halal and bought from a HMC supplier.”

While their core product is prawns and other seafood, they also serve chicken, meat and vegetarian dishes, and claim “wherever possible to source products that are sustainable and environmentally friendly”.

Having opened on London Road, the restaurant’s starters include Gratineed Prawns oven baked in a garlic sauce, and Jimmy’s Dynamitre Prawns.

Otherwise, there’s an assortment of dishes to choose from, such as:

• Seafood Salad of prawns, mussels and calamari, along with an assortment of vegetables.
• Creamy Red Prawn soup
• Lobster Thermidor (700g-800g)
• Paella Valenciana of rice cooked with prawns, calamari, mussels, fillet of fish and chicken breast.
• Sushi rolls and sushi platters.

But it’s their World Famous Killer Prawns where it’s all at with Killer Platters (grilled or fried) of medium prawns served with rice or fries and a trio of sauces that range from £12.50 for 18 pieces to £49.50 for 72.

And yet, if you’re visiting as a large group, then you might want to consider their Millionaires Platter that has practically everything for £79.95.

Jimmy’s Killer Prawns first began in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1991, before branching out to Cyprus, Bahrain and the UAE.

They are currently only accepting guests through reservations.
