Karak Chaii brings its brand to Luton’s Bury Park
HALAL STATUS Fully HalalHaving opened a branch in Slough in August, Karak Chaii has opened its fourth store in Luton’s Bury Park.
Located on Dunstable Road, this particular site will have competition from a similar brand called Chai & Chapati with leading brand Chaiiwala around the corner in Hatters Way Retail Park.
Not to be confused with My Karak Chai, Karak and Chai, or Karak Chaai, Karak Chaii says it has “a busy 12 months ahead opening 38 more locations nationwide”.
With an emphasis on Indian street food, Karak Chaii also boasts sites in Birmingham’s Stratford Road, Sparkhill, and Soho Road, and Handsworth.
This latest opening is part of a Halal restaurant trend that revolves around South Asian brewed tea, with FtLion having chronicled the number of such eateries dotted across the country in an article titled Let the chaii wala chai wars begin.
Karak Chaii’s menu consists of a trio of All-Day Desi Breakfasts; four types of Rotis; a good number of street food items, such as, the Bombay Sandwich, Chilli Paneer, and Keema Mutter & Masala Chips; as well as a variety of Desserts.
