Kokoro opens stores in London Tooting and Chichester

The Korean and Japanese takeaway brand Kokoro launched two new stores this week with openings in London and West Sussex.

With the pair of eateries bring the overall count to 35 by our counting, Tooting in south London and Chichester will now be enjoying their variety of fast food.

While the former is located on Mitcham Road and the latter on North Street, the good news, if you don’t know, is that Kokoro cater for Halal chicken.

As we reported in 2017, a spokesperson told FtLion: “We provide Halal chicken to all our branches,” before confirming: “Also we do not use alcohol for cooking.”

Despite pork also being on the menu, the spokesperson further clarified: “Although we do share the same kitchen and some of the appliances for cooking, the chances of mixing up with different food ingredients especially for pork and chicken is virtually nil [sic].”

Although Japanese dumplings often contain pork lard, Kokoro added: “No pig ingredients in our dumplings. We only offer chicken dumpling and vegetable dumplings.”

As such, you’ll be able to enjoy a number of hot dishes like Chicken Teriyaki, Spicy Chicken Curry, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Sweet & Chilli Chicken, and Chicken Katsu Curry as well as a variety of soups, salads and sides.

With lockdown in place, of course, both branches offer takeaway and delivery through their partner Deliveroo.
