London Halal Food Festival kicks off this weekend

This weekend sees the return of what is now a permanent fixture in the annual Halal food festival calendar.

The London Halal Food Festival kicks off tomorrow morning at the Tobacco Docks and will feature a diverse range of delicious cuisines with lots of family fun.

With over 150 Halal food and beverage stalls, a line up of industry-leading chefs doing live cooking demos, live entertainment and a dedicated kids zone, there will be something for everyone.

This year’s cookery theatre will again be shared by former MasterChef champions Shelina Permalloo and Saliha Mahmood-Ahmed as well as steakhouse HS&Co’s co-founder ‘The Great British Halal Chef’ Hamza.

Other cooks will include YouTube sensation Cook With Anisa, food blogger Afelia’s Kitchen, and a new face to the festival Aida Khan – founder and head chef of modern Pakistani restaurant Shola Kitchen.

There will also be festival shopping stalls at The Souq with plenty of pick-up gifts and goodies that range from health and beauty to hijabs and homewares.

And of course the ever-popular and hugely entertaining eat-offs will no doubt draw in the crowds to see who is the ultimate foodie crown.

With Saturday already sold out, there are tickets available for Sunday with doors opening at 11am and closing at 7pm.
