With 2/3 of their branches reportedly not open, and the remaining third replenishing supplies from ASDA’s, the “KFC Crisis” appears to be driving everyone clucking crazy!
But, before everyone starts to crack up, we’ve pluck together a list of alternative chicken shops for you to chick out.
So for those seeking a quick chicken fix, look no feather than the following list of London’s leading Halal chicken restaurants:
CHIQUEN
Chiquen is a vibrantly colourful restaurant that’s a visually stimulating delight.
The chicken here is really well cooked with a crispy, charred-grilled skin and a succulent interior.
They also do 5 types of chicken wings and strips using inhouse sauces that are delicious!
And don’t forget Chiquen’s finger-licking inhouse sauces. The Sicilian Mild Sauce has a mild lemony taste to it; the Old Delhi Spicy Sauce a delicate fruity taste; the Mozambique Fiery Sauce is strong, punchy with a sweet aftertaste, and delivers intense heat; and the Malaccan Volcanic Sauce has a lovely earthiness to it.

Frangos is another fully Halal restaurant Kingston that specialises in grilled chicken cooked to succulent perfection on a fire grill.
With the aim of bringing you not one country’s favourite chicken, but the worlds favourite chicken, they are constantly trying out different recipes from around the world.
As for the name itself, then its simply one of the many hundreds of words for chicken, which would include (for many it seems) KFC!
Billy and the Chicks is located just off Soho’s Dean Street, and offers ‘Halal Free Range’ chicken.
And while that’s something to get excited about, not all of their menu is Halal, just the British Free Range Fried Chicken at £2.80 per piece.
The Chicken Shop in Ealing is said to be famous for its “24-hour marinated rotisserie chicken”. With a large capacity of 125, the Chicken Shop cooks and prepares its Halal poultry using both separate utensils and an entirely separate grill space.
They are famous for its 24-hour marinated rotisserie Wood & Charcoal Fired Chicken at £17.
Tucked away in the crowded streets of Soho is a charming little restaurant called Ma’Plucker that’s endeavouring to serve halal chicken in a variety of innovative and exciting ways, with its chicken cooked three ways.
