The people behind “gourmet” kebab restaurant Le Bab will be having the soft opening to their second venture later today in Covent Garden.
With 50% off food from Monday 17th till Sunday 23rd September, Maison Bab comprises a new style modern kebab house, but with a twist – a hidden 10-seater fine dining restaurant it calls the Kebab Queen.
Located in the Mercer Walk development on Seven Dial, not only will it be catering for Halal lamb and chicken, but also guarantees zero cross-contamination.

The new venture is a collaboration between Tozer, Brunet and Le Bab executive chef Manu Canales (previously sous chef at the two Michelin-starred Le Gavroche) who will personally head up the kitchen at Kebab Queen.
With the introduction of a new style of kebab – more rustic with bolder flavours than its Soho sister site – this menu (priced under £10) will sit alongside a selection of starter dishes, manoushe, sides and dessert options.
There’s a particular focus on vegan dishes too, with all kebabs, as always, being handmade from scratch with flatbreads made inhouse in a custom-designed oven, using focaccia-style dough.
Kebabs include a ‘Raclette shawarma’ , ‘Drunken Iskender chicken shish’ and vegan options such as ‘Miso celeriac shish with pickled crispy onions & toum’.
A collection of house-made manoushe – Lebanese pizza – with toppings such as Yorkshire lamb, Sussex labneh, chilli & zataar, will also be available.
The Kebab Queen, which is hidden downstairs behind the kitchen, is scheduled to launch later this year.
Exploring modern culinary approaches to the kebab, it will act as Manu’s own chef’s table, with intimate seating for 10 guests around its open kitchen, and serving a six-course kebab-centric tasting menu at £55 per person.
