The Meat Co. – Westfield White City
The Meat Co. (formally The Meat and Wine Co.) has a fully halal food menu + alcohol is served..
Now, considering this is located in Westfield Shopping Centre’s food court, you’d expect the food to be up there especially since the steak costs an eye watering £50.
Nice tasty accompaniment.
Wasn’t sure what burger to get, and the staff weren’t too helpful either. We opted for the most expensive one there – the Double Rib Burger, not knowing, nor warned by the helpful staff, that double meant some big a** tower. On a positive note, the whole order came in just 10 min with crispy chips that were, in spite of the small portion, very tasty.
The meat seemed to be slow cooked, soft and juicy. Shockingly, however, no cheese!!!
But, for a staggering £26.50, we expected better (certainly not as good as Stax). In truth and as seen below, there was a lot of fat on the meat. Was this premium or left over crap? Overall, a good burger, for what it was.
Despite being a house special, this god forsaken Lamb Shank was probably the worst thing we’ve tasted in ages (that too at £23).
It was so bad that after the first bite, the Lion who ordered it refused to eat it any further – tasteless and full of so much fat that it bordered on sickening.
The chick peas and sauce were just wrong. This should seriously be fed to the owner.
The Steak or the Rib & Mash are both amazingly good, and we would recommend getting these over the rest of the menu.
This passion fruit drink was pretty good though.
- YES/ NO
- CHILD SEATING
This place has a mixture of good and bad.

I visited the restaurant for a friends birthday meal, however I did not enjoy the meal at all. Firstly I was told that I was “expected” to order certain items off of the menu (I’m assuming that’s because we were in a group). When I go to a restaurant I want to order the food that I WANT to eat NOT what the restaurant wants me to eat just so they can make money. I’ve been to many restaurants before in groups and have not experienced being forced to order certain items. In terms of the food, the burgers were flat and dry, the chips were hard, the only decent thing was their pathetic excuse for onion rings that should be renamed “onion strips” as they are so thin and half of them weren’t even breaded! On the plus side the service was good and so were the cocktails.

Want to say it is a genuinely well run place with very tasty very well made food managed by a an extremely diligent and dedicated team. Few problems to be expected.
Perfect for summertime with a few seats outside and on top of the very busy court. Food is rather original and good, especially if you get adventurous.
I would recommend the Rack of Beef
