Milk Muhallebi Pudding Recipe for Ramadan

The legendary Muhallebi is a milk pudding whose origins date as far back as to Sassanid Persia. The basic ingredients are rice, sugar, rice flour and milk.

INGREDIENTS

1st Layer

  • Milk 2 cups
  • Cream ½ cup
  • Sugar 1/4 cup +2 tablespoon (or you can adjust according to your taste)
  • Cornstarch 1/3 cup
  • Rose water 1 teaspoon

2nd Layer

  • Water ½ cup
  • Rose syrup 3 table spoons
  • Cornstarch 1 table spoon
  • You can add your choice of flavour, like vanilla, orange.
  • Pistachios for garnishing
