Mother Hubbard’s London debut with 45p fish & chips offer
HALAL STATUS Fully Halal (“HMC approved”)An established fish and chips brand that’s been serving its famous fry-up since 1972 up north will be making its long awaited London debut this Friday.
Mother Hubbard’s will be celebrating its grand opening on Barking Road in Upton Park with an offer that will transport diners back to 1972 when fish and chips were just 45p.
Not only is “everything on our menu is Halal [and] HMC approved”, which includes their sausages and pies, but the first 1000 customers will be able to enjoy their fish and chips for just 45p when they open at 11am.
Aside from the obvious, they’ll be offering a wide selection of pies that include: Steak & Kidney, Chicken & Mushroom, Beef & Potato, Cheese & Onion, and Chicken & Sweetcorn.
Costing a measly £92,000, the first Mother Hubbard’s restaurant was opened by soup opera Coronation Street favourites, Stan and Hilda Ogden, in Bradford’s Ingleby Road in 1972.
With branches in places like Leeds, Blackburn, and Leicester, Mother Hubbard’s is also planning on opening more across the capital including Knightsbridge, Camden Market, Green Street, Ilford Lane, and Edgware Road.
