Newcastle’s award-winning My Delhi soft launch in Sunderland
HALAL STATUS Fully Halal food menu • Alcohol servedAward-winning restaurant My Delhi have soft opened their second venue in the county of Tyne and Wear this week.
Having already won a number of prestigious awards, the street food brand has arrived in Sunderland’s Borough Road with a soft launch menu.
While alcohol is served on the premises, according to their website: “All of our meats are Halal and are sourced from local suppliers.”
Their “Delhi trained chefs” at the first branch in Newcastle, which opened in May 2019, has already made plenty of waves.
Last year, My Delhi won the Asian & Curry Awards ‘Best Street Food Restaurant of the Year’ and the English Curry Awards ‘Best Street Food Restaurant of the year in England’.
Their soft launch menu is available until Sunday 19 June and includes pre-starters of the Chef’s Surprise Nibbles, as well as plenty of Street Plates like Amrtisari Fish, Cauliflower Manchurian, and Delhi Chicken Tikka.
As for their ‘Roadside Stall’ dishes, then the ones to look out for are the Butter Chicken 1950’s, Kozi Curry hailing from a seaport on the east coast of India, the Nawab’s Lucknow’s Royal Chicken Biryani, their “family heirloom” Grandma’s Aloo Matar.
