National Fish & Chip Day 2017 – Here’s Britain’s Best
It’s National Fish and Chip Day today with the nation coming together to celebrate one of the country’s most loved dishes.
And for this year’s big day, FtL presents a list of some of Britain’s top fish and chip eateries.
What makes this list particularly unique is that not only were these restaurants finalists and winners of this year’s National Fish and Chip Award, but they also cater for Halal, as verified by ourselves.
Let’s begin, of course, with the winner of the National Fish and Chip Award 2017, Kingfisher Fish and Chips in Plymouth which triumphed back in January out of a pool of 10 regional winners.
We’re happy to confirm that this chippy’s fish is battered in non-alcoholic batter, with both this and its accompanying chips cooked in sunflower oil.
However, although its fish & chips aren’t fried separately from any non-Halal meat, it does have a gluten-free day every Monday where its award-winning fish & chips are fried in oil not contaminated by non-Halal meat.
Happy Days!
