Hitchin prepares for Peckers ‘seriously good chicken’ tomorrow
SPONSORED CONTENT HALAL STATUS Fully HalalA quiet residential area in a town that’s been voted “one of the best places to live in the country” will tomorrow be welcoming potentially the area’s best chicken brand.
Peckers will be introducing its premium brand of ‘Seriously Good Chicken’ when making its grand debut at noon in the lovely Hertfordshire town of Hitchin.
Ideally located next door to the new Nisa store in Westmill’s John Barker Place, this funkily designed 22-cover restaurant will create a memorable impression well before the food does.
Peckers have effectively captured the brand’s ethos while creating a moody interior thanks to a kaleidoscopic swirl of colourful grafitti courtesy of Mr Meana Graffiti Streetart – an established local street artist who’s worked with an array of clients including Liverpool football legend Steven Gerrard.
In order to deliver the best service possible, the brand has invested in self-serve kiosks which will allow customers to conveniently put in their orders without the hassle of queuing.
Peckers prepare to deliver high quality fast food
Having secured the talents of Venezuelan Head Chef Manuel Tovar, Peckers have created a menu to compliment their eye-catching wall mural, with locally sourced and ethically reared fully Halal chicken.
Not only does this mean the freshest poultry available, but virtually everything is made inhouse, including all their sauces right down to the mayo.
With the fruit and veg procured from Covent Garden market on a daily basis, the company is aiming big by setting a high benchmark right off the bat (or should that be rooster).
And the South American influence is evident across its carefully conceived menu, with Chef Manuel ensuring attention to detail, which includes the Peckers’ chicken going through a mandatory 24-hour marination process.
The end result is unparalleled grilled chicken boasting crispy skin, and a moist and tender interior that’s positively bursting with flavour thanks to its meticulous preparation.
Of course, once you have the basics covered, the rest is simplicity itself, including a selection of made-to-order burgers that range from the chicken Mega Pecker Burger to the veggie Peckersless OG Burger with deliciously crispy simulated chicken fillet.
Unlike other chicken-oriented brands, who tend to neglect the rest of the menu, Peckers maintain that high standard throughout with some flavorous chicken bowls and quality wraps.
Take the Murgar on the Dance Floor Rice Bowl for instance, where the exotic flavours of India are brought to bear in a knockout bowl filled with aromatic pilau rice, herbacious chicken, plenty of greens, an onion bhaji, and a spicious sauce that brings everything together.
Their wraps are filled to the brim with an exciting assortment of ingredients, plenty of that inhouse sauce, and thick chunks of succulent chicken, before being attractively presented on a bed of veggies.
In the end, Peckers, who offer dine-in and takeaway, with delivery options via Just Eat coming soon, don’t just have enough variety for repeat visits, but have covered all the corners necessary in living up to their aim in delivering ‘Seriously Good Chicken’.
