Popeyes’ London Ilford launch first of 30 to open this year

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen has launched the first restaurant of 30 it plans to open across the UK this year.
Located on the High Road of east London’s Ilford, these new stores will ensure that the brand nearly doubles its sites across the country.
With 38 already established, the following have been announced: Hammersmith, London • Bishop Auckland • Exeter • Bury New Road, Greater Manchester • Glasgow Sauchiehall • Aberdeen, Union Street • Nottingham • Swansea • Birmingham • Waterloo station, London.
While all UK branches serve a fully Halal food menu, FtLion has been informed that Popeyes’ breakfast menu is not Halal, with a representative clarifying: “We don’t serve chicken at breakfast, but our chicken served with our daytime menu remains Halal.”
Their website states: “Sourcing UK Sourced, Red Tractor chicken,” before adding: “Everyone is welcome at our table. All of our chicken is Halal and we have certification from the Halal Monitoring Board.”
