Popeyes’ first drive-thru opens in Rotherham

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen celebrated the launch of its very first drive-thru at Parkgate Shopping Park in Rotherham yesterday.
Free chicken sandwiches were awarded for a year to the first three people in the queue, as well as free chicken sandwiches and merch for the first 25 customers.
This was the US fried chicken brand’s 19th branch in all, with all of its UK venues offering a fully Halal food menu aside from the breakfast menu.
FtLion has been informed that Popeyes’ breakfast menu is not Halal, with a representative clarifying: “We don’t serve chicken at breakfast, but our chicken served with our daytime menu remains Halal.”
Otherwise, their website states: “Sourcing UK Sourced, Red Tractor chicken,” before adding: “Everyone is welcome at our table. All of our chicken is Halal and we have certification from the Halal Monitoring Board.”
