Raj of Islington in Holloway opens with Deliveroo discount
HALAL STATUS Fully Halal food menu • Alcohol served
It was only last week that we announced a number of soon-to-open restaurants to look out for at the advent of this new decade.
Well, one of them has already opened in North London, with Indian restaurant concept Raj having launched its second venue yesterday evening.
Having established the highly successful Raj of Kensington over three years ago, founder Salim Sheikh is bringing you all of the same flavours but on Islington’s Holloway Road.
Combining the classic flavours of India with modern gastronomy, Raj of Islington says it will “focus on the same ethos – home-cooked authentic Indian food from different regions across the continent”.
As such, the 82-cover sister restaurant’s menu offers what they call their Clay Oven Delicacies which includes Gilafi Sheekh Kabab from Awadh in Uttar Pradesh, as well as a Salmon Methi (Fenugreek) Tikka from Delhi.
Other signature dishes to look out for are The Railway Lamb Curry, once served on the long train journey from Bombay to Calcutta, and Murg Salli Zardaloo, from the Gujarat region, which are both made based on 100-year-old recipes.
More significantly, Raj of Islington appears to be offering “25% off entire menu” on Deliveroo “for orders over £20.00 (T&Cs apply)”, so grab that before it ends.
