Reece’s introduces Caribbean seafood to Gloucester

Reece’s is a new “upscale” Caribbean restaurant that began serving the seafood of the Islands to Gloucester earlier this month.

Located on Llanthony Road, the 28-cover venue has confirmed that while there is an alcohol bar they do offer a menu where “all the meat is Halal”.

In fact, apart from the Hennessy sauce which contains alcohol and “that is made clear to the customer”, the rest of the menu is Halal.

Describing itself as a  restaurant that “offers a truly authentic dining experience in a classy, yet relaxed environment”, the menu appears to be fairly straightforward.

Containing recipes that are said to “have been in our families for generations”, Reece’s has some interesting dishes too including Banana Fritters, Curried Crabs or Tempura Battered Prawns for starters (although their Sharing Platter for 2 might be a good option).

Apart from the Caribbean staples of Curried Goat and Stewed Beef for mains, there’s also Ackee & Salt Fish, Seasoned Sea Bass, and Jerk Salmon.

But the real fun lies with Reece’s Specials since these include Lobster Tail and Seasoned Fillet Steak, Slow Cooked Rack of Ribs, and a Full Lobster served with Peppered Prawns.

Otherwise they do a number of burgers with their signature Seafood Burger, as well as a variety of Vegan dishes such as Butter Bean & Spinach Curry.
