Popeyes to open drive-thru, Royal Nawaab Ilford launch Monday
Royal Nawaab have announced the big news to the official opening date of their third branch this week.
With a venue already in west London, the Pakistani restaurant will now be launching on Clements Road in east London’s Ilford this Monday 21 November at 5pm.
The brand said on its socials: “We are proud to announce that after the huge success of Royal Nawaab Manchester & London, we will be opening our 3rd branch in Ilford (East London) this summer.
“The new restaurant will be the biggest Pakistani/Indian buffet in the UK; with over 90 dishes, live cooking stations, and a fine dining experience like no other.”
Meanwhile, US fried chicken quick-service brand Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen also announced that their next sequence of openings will include a first drive-thru.
Having already opened seven restaurants across the UK and four delivery kitchens in Greater London, they will now be looking to open the drive-thru in Rotherham at Parkgate Shopping Park.
Known for serving a fully Halal food menu, Popeyes also expect to open 20 restaurants in 2023 which includes Reading, Croydon and Cambridge, with sites in Rotherham, Cardiff and Glasgow early next year.
But FtLion has been informed that Popeyes’ breakfast menu is not Halal, with a representative clarifying: “We don’t serve chicken at breakfast, but our chicken served with our daytime menu remains Halal.”
Tom Crowley, chief executive at Popeyes UK, confirmed that in 2023 “we’ll be opening a raft of drive-thru locations, with the first likely to be in Rotherham”.
