Rudie’s Jerk Shack to launch in Brixton Village in November

Rudie’s Jerk Shack will bring their unique and authentic flavours of Jamaican cuisine to Brixton when they launch their third site this November.
Aiming for the first week of that month, the husband and wife team of Matin and Michelle Miah will be opening in Brixton Village with a 50 cover restaurant.
Split across two levels with indoor and outdoor table service, the venue will be located in Market Row and serving a menu full of innovative dishes inspired by Michelle’s Jamaican heritage.
What’s more, Rudie’s Jerk Shack have confirmed with FtLion: “The food menu will be halal with no pork. But we will have a bar serving alcohol.”
Watch out for their famed ‘Real Jerk’, with meats and fish marinated for 24 hours in a secret blend of herbs and spices, before being grilled and smoked slowly over charcoal in a steel drum.
Michelle Miah said: “This is a very personal launch for us. Having spent a lot of my childhood days in Brixton with my Jamaican grandma, I know that authenticity and flavour is key when serving Jamaican dishes.
“Matin and I have spent years travelling to Jamaica, researching, tasting and trying as much as possible and we are so proud of what we have created. I can’t wait to bring our take on Jerk the people of Brixton to try it.”
