Saffron Street launching later today in Gants Hill
HALAL STATUS Fully Halal (HMC certified)
A new Indian restaurant that’s aiming to introduce “a refined street food experience to Gants Hill” will be launching today in East London.
Saffron Street says it promises “to bring you guys some of the best street food India has to offer” when doors open later this evening at 5pm.
More importantly, the restaurant is registered on the Halal Monitoring Committee’s website as HMC certified.
Located on Cranbrook Road near Gants Hill station, this new eatery takes over from grill and noodle house Pacana, with parking available around the corner (at IG2 6SX).
Although information on the menu is scant, with “a tasty thaali and a delicious lassi” being hinted at on their website, the playful element of tiffin boxes appears to be on the cards going by the images on their social accounts.
In addition, there’s the popular Mumbai street food Vada Pav – a spicy potato filling sandwiched between buns – as well as a colourful looking masala chaat and smartly presented masala dosas.
In the end, their “hope is that Saffron Street will be more than just another place to grab a bite” with “reimagined not reinvented” dishes being “served with a smile in a beautiful, warm atmosphere”.
