Only a few months after vacating their Chinese street food pop-up in Arndale Market, Salt & Pepper have opened a new permanent spot just across the way.
Located on the High Street in the Northern Quarter, the brand has told FtLion that it caters for both Halal chicken and beef that’s all prepped and cooked separately.
“Yes, we can confirm that our chicken [“and beef”] is all Halal certified. And yes, we use separate fryers and cooking equipment from the beef so there’s no chance of cross-contamination!” Salt & Pepper informed FtLion.
In addition to their menu featuring the classic dishes, they also do new stuffed wraps and healthier grilled options instead of fried, as well as a new curry sauce from their family recipe to add to their nine sauces.
Although Salt & Pepper “ended up selling out early” on their opening day, it said: “Honestly, we have no words to describe how we’re feeling right now. Kinda like a mixture of joy, pride and lots of exhaustion.”
