Sbarro ‘Original New York Pizza’ at Heathrow petrol station
By Aku Fu
Realising I was running out of petrol near Heathrow, I found an Esso station in Hayes’ Shepiston Lane with a surprising food vendor located therein.
Not only were there a number of food outlets – Asda, Greggs, Subway, and Cinnabon – but also a pizza place called Sbarro.
Claiming to be ‘The Original New York Pizza’, a quick Google search showed that they have over 600 sites worldwide.
But that’s not all. What made me extra happy was the big Halal sign plastered on the front of the pizza display cabinet.
Although Google also reveals a mixture of reviews, Sbarro don’t just have an enticing selection of pizzas, which includes a build-your-own option, but also do Stromboli, that’s a kind of baked turnover.
There’s a number of sides too with a Premium range, such as Cheesy Garlic Bread and Southern Fried Chicken Strips, and a Classic range, like Chicken Nuggets and Wedges.
But the fact that there is a Cinnabon shop there too, means that I will be going back for some pizza and cinnamon buns very soon.
