Side Street makes Manchester debut with first restaurant

Another smashed burger joint has been added to what is now undoubtedly a saturated sector of the Halal restaurant scene.

This time it’s Side Street who, having started in Rochdale as a delivery kitchen in 2020 due to the pandemic, have opened their first brick and mortar site.

Having “experienced quick success, selling 61,500 burgers in just nine months”, they have now opened on the busy stretch of Wilmslow Road.

Side Street also claim: “From your support, we’ve just hit a massive milestone of serving over 200,000 burgers and we couldn’t be happier,” which apparently equates to: “26 tonnes of beef smashed – 7 tonnes of chicken fried – 31 tonnes of fries devoured.”

The menu is, of course, a combination of a variety of smashed burgers, half a dozen chicken based burgers, some sliders, and sundry.
