The Smoke Daddies pop-up launches in London Balham

An exciting new pop-up that’s been “inspired by American BBQ Pitmasters but with our own contemporary touch” has opened in south London.

With London in tier-3 lockdown last week, The Smoke Daddies enjoyed a pre-launch on Thursday with a queue of hungry customers on Hildreth Street looking to pick up a free takeaway.

Despite London having now moved into tier-4 lockdown, the owner of this fully Halal eatery said that “it’s business as usual for us”.

FtLion was also told that whether The Smoke Daddies remains a pop-up is “all dependent on the reaction of our customers. If they like the food and keep coming back there is always potential to stay”.

While the full menu is still to be revealed, the items that have been posted on their Instagram account are exciting including a Wagyu patty burger.

Naming it ‘A Bone To Pick’, this burger houses a beef short rib Dynamo with tomato, beef bacon, salad and hash round, topped with smoke daddies ‘saucesome’ and house mayo.

The Smoke Daddies also offer the ‘Cuban Ruben’ burger with a USDA brisket smoked for 10 hours before being steamed and served in sour dough bread, which is their take on the classic New York Ruben sandwich.

They also do a Boerewors Roll; Fish Taco with crispy fish tempura topped with house scotch bonnet mango salsa; as well as a breakfast-inspired brioche bun.

The Smoke Daddies also revealed: “We do specials such as full spatchcock tandoori smoked chicken; pulled lamb burgers (lamb is smoked using pomegranate molasses and ras al hanout spices); and much more.”
