Special Eid menus delivered directly to your door
As Ramadan winds down for another year, we all prepare ourselves for what will be an unusually quiet and somewhat sombre Eid this coming week.
And though the food and drink sector is hanging by its fingernails as the UK continues to endure during lockdown, some restaurants have already started to reopen following the easing of restrictions.
In fact, there’s even a few who have managed to put together a number of exciting Eid menus which we’re presenting below for you to consider on the blessed day.
COLLECTION ONLY
We start with Makan Café, a small eatery in Notting Hill which hasn’t just been nominated for Timeout’s Love London Award, but was also featured on Masterchef judge John Torode’s travel documentary John Torode’s Malaysian Adventure.
Owner Azhar Kamarudin has put together a number of family packs for £30 each meant for 5-6 people:
- Lemang with Beef Rendang.
- Nasi Minyak with ayam masak merah + dalcha + achar.
- Lontong with Nasi himpit and sambal bilis.
Otherwise, there’s these individual packed meals for those looking for variety, all of which will be available for collection on Eid morning, or Hari Raya as it’s also known in Malaysia
- Chicken satay set: skewers satay with nasi himpit + kuah kacang, £6.00
- Lemang slice with beef rendang, £7.50
- Nasi minyak + ayam merahdalcha and achar, £7.50
- Longtong £7.50

A ‘My Eid Box’ can be pre-ordered through MyLahore for £49.95 and can either be collected from any of their stores or delivered chilled ready to heat at home between 22nd and 25th May.
Serving 5 people, this box contains three starters, four mains and a couple of sides, and a duo of desserts, among which include:

For mains, there’s Saag Paneer, Butter Chicken and Lamb Biryani with Naans and a number of sides, while for dessert there’s Ras Malai Cake and Gajar Halva. Sapna Caterers will be preparing a limited number of their Special Eid Hampers which, for £65 (free delivery included), is designed to comfortably feed up to 4 persons.

Spice Village follows up its Iftar Hampers with this slightly dearer £80 Special Eid Hamper that’ll serves a family of five.
While it’s available for collection on Eid between 12pm to 11pmfrom their Southall branch (2-hour pre-notice required), they can also deliver across London (charges apply for locations beyond 2-miles) with 24-hours pre-notice.
The hamper will consist of a selection of signature dishes, such as Bhoona Gosht, Chicken Haandi, and Lahori Chana Masala; four starters including Seekh Kebabs and Chicken Tikka, and a pair of desserts which consists of a Special Eid Sawaiyan.

The private chefs at Rafiq Catering in Leicester have used “old fashioned techniques” to create a simple menu for £7 per person that comprises two starters of Gazeebo Chicken and Shish Kebabs, three mains including Lamb Biryani and Soji for afters.
With a minimum order required for 10 people, the meal is only available for collection from Dorothy Road.
