Tawa Kitchen serves up healthy breakfasts in Cambridge
HALAL STATUS Fully HalalTawa Kitchen is bringing “a new concept” to Cambridge” and promising that “mornings at CB1 will never be the same again”!
With “a healthy take on authentic Indian cuisine”, the all-day cafe and restaurant has confirmed that “all of our meat is Halal” with “no alcohol” being used therein.
As for their menu, then it revolves around “the Ayurveda principle – an ancient Indian healing system based on the concept of balance between body and mind”.
Founder Vilas Patel has reportedly said that “after 15 years in the sandwich shop business” the time seemed right to introduce “nutritious, healthy and casual Indian inspired cuisine” she’s truly passionate about.
Located on Station Road and opening on weekdays only, breakfast is available from 7.30am to 10.30am and includes masala omelettes, Warm Breakfasts like Karahi Shakshuka and Paneer Croissant, as well as Rise and Shine Pots with flavours such as Honey and Rose and Coconut Milk Chia.
Lunch is served from 11am and is based on salad, tawa and bread combinations like chargrilled cauliflower, chickpea and pomegranate salad, with grilled baby courgettes stuffed with spiced nuts, or a simple hot paratha, which can all be washed down any time of day with chais, fresh juices or lassies.
Another plus point is that not only is all packaging biodegradable and plastic free, but Tawa also encourages the return of its reusable bottles for reuse.
