Turkish kitchen and takeaway The Munch opens in Shoreditch
HALAL STATUS Fully HalalNew Turkish restaurant The Munch has launched in Shoreditch with emphasis placed, of course, on their kebabs.
Brought to fruition by Utku and his father, this Turkish kitchen, while offering some indoor seating, functions more as a grab ‘n’ go takeaway joint.
Located on Shoreditch High Street, the menu is short and sweet with Cold and Hot Sides ranging from the typical hummus and cacik, to the hotter borek, grilled halloumi and falafels.
And while there are a few burgers thrown in for choice, it’s really all about those kebabs which come with rice or chips and salad.
As such there’s the default lamb or chicken doner, as well as two varieties of shish, a mixture of both, and adana kofte.
More impressively, they serve up lamb ribs, the yoghurt-inspired lamb beyti, and a homemade stew of the day.
If you’re seeking after a bit of everything though, then you might want to go for one of their two Munch Box platters.
