As the son of a Walworth butcher, whose family had been involved in the meat trade for generations, Tom Hixson founded the business Tom Hixson of Smithfield over fifty years ago in 1963.
By 1983, after having become the head of the Smithfield Tenancy Association, Tom, who by then was already recognised as a pioneer within the meat industry, became director of Linden Foods (previously Granville Meat Company) in 1984 – one of Ireland’s biggest meat producers.
This wealth of expertise and experience has been built upon by subsequent generations, with the current third, which include Tom, George and Sally, continuing to push boundaries, maintain standards and deliver unrivalled quality and service.
