Let’s Celebrate UK BBQ Week 2017
While many of you may have missed this year’s National BBQ Week, which quietly came and went during the month of Ramadan, fret not for today begins UK BBQ Week.
This inaugural celebration of all things BBQ is an idea conceived of by “a group of real BBQ fans [who] have set up UK BBQ Week in an effort to promote barbecue” because they were “tired of seeing half hearted corporate efforts with sponsorship agendas to get people into restaurants instead of barbecuing at home”.
To this end, and in partnership with online Halal Gourmet Meat suppliers Halalnivore, FtLion has shortlisted a number of online Halal meat delivery websites to help “encourage people young and old to pick up the tongs and cook up some amazing BBQ food for their families and friends”.

Established only last year, Halalnivore have already carved out a reputation with a slick online ordering and weekly delivery service (every Thursday with free orders over £80) that offers the country’s Halal community access to high quality steaks (8 varieties), burgers, chops, lamb, and four types of gourmet rubs.
Having personally tried them ourselves both last year’s and this year’s (just check out their mouthwatering selection of steaks) for our Ramadan BBQ, we can absolutely vouch for their high quality and professionalism.
We found that local halal butchers didn’t quite ‘meat’ the criteria for us. As self proclaimed foodies with a passion for great quality food, we believe it should be easier to buy gourmet halal meat. We invested a lot of blood, sweat and tears researching credible suppliers for quality, fresh hand-cut meat with strict halal credentials … and so ‘Halalnivore’ was born – a gourmet meat club delivering straight to your door.
Our aim is to make it easy for the UK’s halal community to access high quality meat, cut the way you like! You can enjoy the same cuts of meat that you would get at luxury 5 star hotels in Central London and across the world.
Our unique meat box concept and weekly nationwide delivery slot allows us to deliver juicy meat cuts that you wouldn’t have access to from your local butcher. Each box contains a selection of the best cuts of lamb and beef from around the world, giving you the chance to try something new!

Abraham Organics
Abraham Organics claim to be “the only organic Soil Association accredited halal meat producer in the UK”. They offer a good selection of cuts of meat and poultry, which includes duck and goat, as well as a variety of marinated burgers and sausages.
Although they don’t deliver to all parts of the country, they do cover a large area. Be sure to, therefore, check their Postcode Checker before ordering.
Willowbrook Farm
As a family-run farm nestled in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, Willowbrook Farm produce food naturally and sustainably (Tayyib) by adopting an holistic approach that encompasses keeping their own livestock and poultry, and providing them with a non-GM diet, no unnatural chemicals, hormones or routine medication. As part of their reared food, they offer the usual, including meat boxes and a good range of burgers and sausages to slap on your Barbi.
Having visited the farm ourselves for our 2015 Ramadan BBQ, we can attest to the freshness and high quality of their meats.
Halal Exotic Meats
Halal Exotic Meats have the exotic in there for a good reason. What makes them stand out from the others is the impressive list of non-traditional meats they offer ranging from: venison, llama and camel, to poultry that includes ostrich, pheasant, quail, turkey or geese, and even wagyu beef, rose veal and buffalo.
They offer a flat rate delivery fee of £9.00 for all orders to England, Wales and Scotland under £100 on a 1-2 delivery service, as well as pre-12pm delivery for an additional quid.
