Award-winning Uni Kebab opens new restaurant in Southampton

Uni Kebab has soft opened a large dine-in restaurant worthy of its multi-award winning status and down the road from Southampton University.

The Turkish Mangal launched a 100-cover venue on 220 Burgess Road with its old branch on the same road now serving as a delivery and takeaway site.

With seating for 36 available outdoors including 65 indoors, Uni Kebab are giving away free mezzes, ice cream, and baklava until their scheduled official launch this coming weekend.

After winning the Good Food Awards earlier this year thereby making it four years on the trot since 2019, the popular kebab shop added another British Kebab Awards by winning ‘Best Value Restaurant’ last month.

Having rated Uni Kebab’s old site 4/5 back in 2019, this new place boasts an elaborate menu consisting of pides, twisters, calzones, mezzes, soups, and a variety of mains, as well as steaks, parmos, burgers, fresh pizzas, and hot pots.

Last Thursday, the kebab shop published CCTV footage on their Instagram account of two men having apparently stolen 11 containers of oil in the early hours of the morning.

Having captured their faces on camera and their car registration, Uni Kebab issued them the following warning: “I give you 24 hours to bring them back to where you took them or I will go to the police.”

The owners have informed FtLion that while the oil is yet to be recovered, the incident has been reported to the police, though they still await a response.
