Having broken the news last year that Watan would be taking over from the legendary Chaudhry’s TKC in London’s Southall, the wait is finally over.
The Afghan restaurant has moved from its previous premises farther up the road to a place more centerally located on The Broadway.
“The wait is finally over! We are proud to announce the opening of our new branch in Southall! Our new opening marks a momentous milestone for the Watan Group in our journey to bridge the gap and bring authentic Afghani-Pakistani food to the UK,” Watan announced on Instagram.
With branches in Tooting and Ilford, this latest venue by Watan offers plenty of seating in a floral-oriented interior with grilled food as the focal point of its menu.
Chaudhry’s TKC was established by Abdul Majid Chaudhry in 1965, before being taken over by Dalawar Chaudhry who also stood as an independent councillor for Southall Broadway in 2010.
