Patri in Hammersmith is essentially Chai Naasto 2.0 – an upgraded version that’s not afraid to take you on a journey across India and, in the case of this fantastic Ramadan menu we personally tried and loved, Pakistan.

Ramadan Menu

Chef Puneet has gone out of his way to create an entirely new menu for you guys. How many Indian restaurants are currently offering Thalis such as New Delhi, Jodhpur or Lahore? In fact, these were so well done, you’d think you’re actually there?

Watch out for their Roohafza Mint, a cracking little drink that’ll be perfect after a long day’s fast; 50 50 Grill with some seriously good flavours and cooking; and the Phirni, one of the best we’ve had!

  • Sin Free Mojito’s:

Intercontinental Park Lane (Mayfair)

If you’re fancying something fancy with a touch of opulence, then Intercontinental Park Lane are offering not 1, not 2, but 3 Iftar menus to spoil you for choice.

Available in the Wellington Lounge, the menus will be changing and featuring dishes such as chicken shish taouk, grilled sea bass, vegetable kabssah and mixed baklava.

Priced £49 for four-courses with bookings from 9-11pm (13 – 17 years: £35 per person, 7 – 12 years: £29 per person, Under 6 years: free).

Al Fanar (Kensington)

With an ambience of Dubai in the 1960’s, and with the taste of Authentic Emirati Cuisine, Al Fanar Restaurant & Cafe will revive the memories of Dubai when it was a small town on the shore of the Arabian Gulf. Enjoy the 2 Ramadan menus at £29.95 + 12.5% discretionary service charge.

Bismillah Restaurant (Greenford)

Due to the success of the buffet, the price has gone up to £9.99. It’s only available Monday-Friday so go and enjoy some authentic Afghan cusine.

Proper Burgers (Leyton)

Popular burger joint in Leyton, East London, Proper Burgers have reopened for Ramadan with a menu that’s brought back the fried chicken from last year.

If you like your chicken, however, you’ll have to mention it when booking.

Shuro Shirin (Fulham)

Shuro Shirin is a Persian ‘Grab & Go’ that gives Londoners the opportunity of eating traditional Persian food on the move.

They’re offering a sunset meal deal – any wrap, hot pot or salad plus a drink for just a fiver that’s available only after sunset.

TKC (Southall)

Iftar

TKC Southall isn’t so much a restaurant as it is an institution! Having been established for so long it requires little introduction suffice it to say that they’re offering a buffet for adults £13.99 from Iftar onwards.

The Steak Restaurant

While The Steak Restaurant will be launching a new updated menu tomorrow, they’re offering 15% off the entire menu (no minimum spend) until the end of Ramadan.

With premium steaks on the menu, this place is definitely worth the visit.

The Grill Factory (Whitechapel)

The Grill Factory in Whitechapel offer a Ramadan Box comprising: quarter chicken, two chops, three wings, any side, drink, dates, salad and sauces, all for £10.95. You can also order for delivery (min £20 spend).

Dome Kitchen (Watford)

Suhoor/Sehri

While Dome Kitchen opens from 8am-6pm, they’re opening hours during this month from 11pm till 2.30am for suhoor.

While the menu remains the same, they have added a few extra dishes too.

Manjaros (Ilford)

Manjaros cuisine is a fusion of African and Caribbean in Ilford who are offering a menu with a starter, main and drink for £13.95 including favourites Chicken Parmo’s, Grilled Chicken, as well as their newly introduced doner. More impressively, the place has its own “Mini Manjaros Mosque” with wudu facilities on site.
Honest Burgers (Bond St)

Honest Burgers have teamed up with JUMA Kitchen to bring their new local special exclusive to their Bond Street location.
The JUMA, made in collaboration with Philip Juma, the British-Iraqi chef behind JUMA Kitchen, combines JUMA fried chicken seasoned with fennel seeds, cinnamon, turmeric, cumin and coriander seeds with saffron mayo, fennel and red cabbage slaw, crispy onions and lettuce. Of course, it comes with Honest’s homemade rosemary salted chips for just £12.50, and it’s Halal.
Liban Tapas (Woodford)

While Liban Tapas offers a traditional Lebanese menu with a French influence, this month they have a Ramadan set menu for just £15pp that’s available, peculiarly, from between 8pm to 9pm.

After opening your fast with dates, water and a soup, you can choose from any main dish before rounding things off with mint tea and baklava.

Al Qalaa (Park Royal)

Al Qalaa is a newly opened Middle Easter open buffet restaurant in Park Royal offering its services to adults for £18.99, children over-6 £10, and children under 5 free from 8pm onwards.

Ali Ocakbasi (Leicester Square)

Having reviewed Ali Ocakbasi in Leicester Square not too long ago, we were impressed by their sheer variety.  This time they’re offering a set menu, with all the delightful dishes of Turkey, for £34.50pp:

  • For opening Iftar, there’ll be Black & Green Olives, Tomato/Cucumber, homemade hummus and tulum cheese.
  • Mains, either: 1) Cop Sis – Barbequed small cubes of marinated lamb, 2) Ali Kebap – Lamb and beef kebab mix, low fat, hand ground daily and mix with Turkish spices, 3) Saslik Kebabi – Barbequed slices of specially marinated beef loin and onion rings, 4) Pilic Sis – Spiced tender cubes of barbequed marinated chicken legs fillet.
  • Dessert will, of course, be Baklawa.
HS&Co. (Stratford)

HS&Co is a well established steak restaurant in Stratford that’s putting up a number of items for selection as part of its Ramadan menu.

This includes a special revolving around its select prime cut meats for sharing, as well as a Break-Fast Burger.

Mamounia Lounge (Knightsbridge)

Check out our review of Mamounia Lounge, who combine the best of Lebanese and Moroccan cuisines to offer the following Iftar set menu (including dates) at their Knightsbridge venue.

  • You’ll start with a Juice of the day or Glass of Leben and Medjool Dates, followed by either Lentil or Harira Soup.
  • Mezze Platter – Hummus, Mousakaa, Tabouleh, Cheese Sambousek, Selection of Briouat, and Moutabel.
  • Main Course (choice of either) – 1) Lamb Kafta served with Lebanese white rice, 2) Shisha Taouk served with Lebanese white rice, 3) Seasonal Vegetable Tagine served with couscous, 4) Fish Tagine (fish of the day) served with saffron rice.

Bunk Burger (Streatham)

Harlem Soul (Shoreditch)

Harlem Soul (previously Boondocks) in Shoreditch Hoxton are a newly opened restaurant who are offering, as part of their ‘Dates to Break Your Fast’ Ramadan menu, a Starter Chorizo Bites or Buttered Seasonal Corn, three burgers for Mains, a Dessert and a drink, all for £22.50. There’s even a prayer room downstairs.

Beit el Zaytoun (Park Royal)

Suhoor/Sehri Iftar

Beit el Zaytoun is a Lebanese restaurant in Park Royal that are not only putting up an ifgtar menu for £26pp (min 2 persons), but also an impressive suhoor starting from 11.30pm till 12:45.

For Iftar there’s items like: Lentil soup or soup of the day, your traditional hot and cold mezzes; and for mains from the buffet: 1) Kharouf with rice – Slow cooked of lamb legi, rice wilh minced lamb and nuts, 2) Chicken with rice – Chicken with lamb rice and nuts, 3) ask the waiter for the daily dish.

As for Suhoor, then there’s 8 items to choose from.

The Great Chase (Islington)

A 3-course set menu is available for £32 per person, with bookings open from 27th April on their website. While a deposit andpre-order are essential, a 12.5% discretionary charge will also be added to the bill.

Fatburger (Wembley)

The Wembley branch of Fatburger have an interesting offer. Once you’ve broken your fast with complementary dates and a drink, there’s a huge meal available for £45 where you’ll get 6 burgers, 6 fries and 10 wings.

They are also doing a wings sharing platter: 24 for £17, and £34 for 48.

The Pie Factory

Pie Factory is working with a national charity to donate Ramadan Food Packs to feed families in need for an entire month. Every Iftar eaten at Pie Factory this Ramadan will increase the number of Food Packs donated.

You get Pie, Sausage Roll, Tuna Yorkshires, Channa Yorkshires, Lamb Chop, Chicken Wing, Caramelised Carrots, Mash, Salad and Gravy, all for £8.50.

Guanabana (Kentish Town )

Carribean Halal restaurant, Guanabana in Kentish Town, are offering an array of itens as part of their monthly menu, which includes a roast with the twist of coal roasted jerk chicken or roast rump beef. More importantly, they’ll be giving £2 towards a charity when you go in for their island roast.

Also on the menu is The Date Shake, a Mango Lassi Special, Keema Nachos and for dessert Feta & Honey Kanafeh Cheesecake topped with berries, sweetened feta cream cheese and then lathered in a sweet organic honey.

Matsya (Mayfair)

Indian fine dining establishment Matsya in upmarket Mayfair, whom we reviewed when they first opened in 2018, are putting together a fantastic Ramadan Menu for just £30/pp.

The 3-course menu will have Dates and a refreshing Liban to open the fast, followed by – Starter: Aloo Tiki; Main: Thali of Dal, Potato Makhani, Lamb Kheema, Butter Chicken, and Salad served with Rice and Naan; Dessert: Fruit Kheer (Rice Pudding).

Burger UK (Chalk Farm)

Burger UK in Chalk Farm are doing a smart little deal that has a standard single beef or chicken burger, regular fries or onion rings, and a soft drink – all for just £10.

To qualify, all you have to do is follow their Instagram account to redeem, with the offer available from Iftar (sunset) till closing

Colony (Ilford)

HALAL STATUS Fully Halal food & drink menu • Shisha served

Colony Lounge, while ostensibly a shisha lounge, are offering a buffet menu only for £30pp (excluding drinks).

The plus point is that they offer prayer facilities on site for customers. However, bookings are required calling 07947 709 900 or 07534 816 255.

Maison Du Mezzé (Leicester Square)

Break your fast with Maison Du Mezzé with their daily changing 4 course meal with special Ramadan drinks for £25pp.

  • Soups: 1) Lentil Soup – Traditional Lebanese Lentil Soup cooked with garlic, onions and olive oil, 2) Mushroom Soup – Seasonal porcini and button mushrooms, in a homemade chicken broth base, with fresh herbs and truffle oil garnish.
  • Starters: 1) Maison Cold Mezze Platter – Hummus, Moutabal, Al Rahib, Labneh, Warak Inab, 2) Maison Hot Mezze Platter – Sambousek Lahmeh, Kibbeh maklieh, sojuk and grilled halloumi.
  • Main Courses: 1) Kharouf Mehchy, 2) Chicken Freekeh, 3) Fish Tajen, 4) Spaghetti Bolognese.
  • Desserts: 1) Atayef – Granulated pastry on melted cheese served warm with syrup, 2) Rice Pudding – Caramelized wheat filled with ashta clotted cream.
  • Ramadan Drinks: 1) Tamar Hindi – Juice made up of Indian dates, sugar, water and lemon, creating a tangy beverage with just a hint of sweetness, 2) Jallab – A drink made of grape molasses, dates and rose water and served with pine nuts, 3) Qamar al-Din – A Juice prepared from dried apricot paste.
Yasmeen Restaurant & Cafe (St Johns Wood)

Yasmeen Restaurant & Cafe in St John’s Wood, which was rated 3.5/5 ROARS, is offering the following iftar for £30pp (not including discretionary service charge).

  • Welcome drink and dates: jallab, tamer hindi, Amardein, or any soft drink (coke, 7up, small water).
  • Soup: lentil soup or harira soup
  • Appetizers plate containing: 1 falafel, 1 sambousak cheese, 1 sambousak lamb, 1 fried kibbeh, fatoush salad and hummus
  • Main course (choose one): 1) shish tawook – two chargrilled and marinated chicken skewers served with our homemade garlic sauce, 2) kafta halabiyeh: three chargrilled and seasoned minced lamb, onion and parsley kebabs, 3) grilled baby chicken: a tender chargrilled baby chicken served with homemade garlic sauce, 4) vegetarian tagine: fresh tomato sauce topped with carrots, zucchini, turnip. butternut squash, parsnip, 5) lamb couscous: succulent lamb pieces on a bed of homemade couscous with carrots, courgette, butter nut squash, turnip, parsnip.

Al Arez (multiple)

 

Al-Arez has a number of Lebanese restaurants across the Capital including two on Edgware Road and one on Brompton Road.

They are doing a set menu of starters, a main meal and desserts for £19.75pp.

Etles Uyghur (Walthamstow)

Free Suyuash (Yughur noodle soup) Paprika Salad (above) with every meal after Iftar!

Etles Uyghur has the distinction of being the first truly genuine Uyghur restaurant to open in London. Having reviewed them back in last year, we can vouch for their authenticity.

More importantly, they are offering a free Suyuash (Yughur noodle soup. By the way, that’s freshly prepared noodles) and Paprika Salad with every meal after Iftar.

Motu (Canary Wharf)

Food caterers, Motu, which, according to their website, affectionately means “Fat Man” in Hindi, are offering an iftar menu for delivery to the Canary Wharf district only via Deliveroo.

The Iftar Feast Box (follow this link) for 1 comprises: a Seekh Kebab, a Haleem (mutton), a Pilau Rice, a Red Chilli Naan, and a Raita.

Honey & Smoke (Fitzrovia)

Honey & Smoke Middle Eastern Grill in Great Portland Street is a Middle Eastern establishment offering quite the menu. For £45pp, which is only available for the entire table to share and from 5.30pm, you get:

  • On arrival: Medjool dates, Almonds, Mountain Tea/ Orange blossom iced tea.
  • Mezze selection: Flat bread, Olive oil & zaatar, Creamy hummus with tatbilla, Aubergine & tomato salad, Falafcl with tahini, Courgette dried apricots & pistachio salad, Pea, mint & i’eta.fritters, Labaneh with spring greens, Pickles & olives, Lentil soup.
  • Platters of mains (served as a rolling feast): Joojah chicken kebab (halal), Slow cooked lamb with plums & roses (halal), Rice with almonds.
  • Canape dessert selection: Ataycf asafiri, Maamool, Our tela cheese cake, Cooked cardamom coffee or more tea.
Koolcha (Wembley Boxpark)

Koolcha (3.5/5 ROARS) is an impressive restaurant located in Wembley Boxpark whose menu has been designed by Michelin-starred chef Rohit Ghai. They’re offering two Ramadan menus:

  • Non-Veggie (£20) – Aloo Tikki Chaat, Chicken Pepper Fry, Chicken Tikka Masala Thali (served with: Tawa Paratha, Pulao, Raita, Pickle, Salad), Rasmalai.
  • Veggie (£18) – Aloo Tikki Chaat, Vada Pao, Paneer Butter Masala Thali (served with: Tawa Paratha, Pulao, Raita, Pickle, Salad), Rasmalai.
Rustix Gourmet (East Ham)

Burger joint Rustix Gourmet in East Ham have two iftar set menus, a burger-based one for £20, and a steak-based one for £30.

Beef & Birds (Brick Lane)

Beef & Birds are located in and have a very reasonable Ramadan menu at just £12.95pp and £15pp, respectively.

Sidi Bou London (Ealing)

Sidi Bou London in Ealing have a Ramadan set menu for £25pp.

Kolachi (Barking)

Iftar Suhoor

Kolachi in Barking serves Pakistani cuisine. This year, it will be offering an iftar comprising of dates, pakora, chana chat and fruits, as well as Roh Afza to quench the thirst.

It’s suhoor will cost £7.99, with the restaurant remaining open until 2am every morning.

Samad Al Iraqi Restaurant (Kensington)

Samad al Iraqi Restaurant in Kensington are offering their menu for £30pp for which you’ll get a Soup and Cold and Hot Starters.

For a main course, you can choose from: Lamb Quzi, Tashrib, Mixed Grills or Maqluba or Dolma. And for dessert there’s Ramadan Sweets, Yoghurt And Dates, Ramadan Juices.

MANCHESTER

House of Kai (Deansgate)

For those not in the know The Kai tribe (Turkish: Kay? boyu) was the second-largest and most influential tribe of the nine-tribe Turkish nation. With that history lesson aside, this plush restaurant is offering a Turkish iftar menu for £20pp:

  • Mix Mezze Platter for 2 people – Homous, Ezme, Zhoug, Calamari Fritters, Halloumi, Garlic Mushrooms.
  • Mix Gril for 2 people – Adana kebab, Shish kebab, Lamb Chops, Bulger Rice.
  • Dessert – Baklava for 2 with Turkish Tea

BIRMINGHAM

Chaska & Chaii (Sparkbrook)

Having opened only last month, Pakistani street food restaurant Chaska & Chaii are offering a buffet menu for £13pp.

Doux Dessert (Birmingham)

A “luxury dessert parlour” in Birmingham’s Fox and Goose, Hodge Hill, specialising in “the art of handmade Swiss ice cream”, so expect some great milkshakes.
